This set features a rugged die-cast steam switcher locomotive and plastic tender heads this realistic train. In addition to the engine's metal body it features a working headlight, puffing smoke, 3-position E-unit for transformer controlled forward-neutral-reverse operation and a front-end operating knuckle coupler with New York Central markings.

Rolling stock includes: Operating NYC Crane car (cab swivels and crane hook cranks up and down manually), operating NYC Searchlight car, NYC Bunk car, NYC Gondola with canisters, and NYC Wok Caboose. The rolling stock features: Metal wheels, Crisp NYC markings, Operating knuckle couplers.
