This was the beginning of 'Sound' for Lionel and would be the 2nd group of 'O' Gauge size boxcar to be issued. The car has a Diesel Roar sound when in motion, a horn & whistle when activated from the buttons on a transformer. #5906 Sound activation button (included) can be used for those older transformers that don't have a whistle & bell button separately. The car works directly off of the track power. It was track tested and functions correctly.
NOTE: Boxcar body shell can be replaced with any-type of shell that is molded the same way this body shell was produced.
